The sale and delivery of shrubs is done by cargo bike and boat. After the death of founder Piet, four sons continued the company. Kolster is growing into a successful commercial nursery. 1953 1968 Grandson Peter uses his passion for plants to further expand the company. Mixed bouquets are becoming a trend. That is why Kolster BV focuses on the breeding of cut shrubs and becomes a major global player. 1990 EN 64 Peter‘s sons Robert-Jan and Martin join the company. They learned the trade from their father at an early age. 1996/2001 1998 We market our best (cut) shrubs and plants under the name “Magical”. We add shrubs and perennials for garden and patio to our range. Wouter den Hollander, now a board member, strengthened the team in 2001. 2000 2013 Start of Magical Hydrangea as a brand. Our 150-day flowering and color-changing hydrangea “Magical” is now known worldwide. Magical Garden Plants is our next brand: a year-round garden and patio plant concept.
